HISTORY
|
Her path into massage therapy began in an unconventional but deeply personal way. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she began studying massage through home education after receiving the gift of a massage table. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion. She spent countless hours practicing techniques on family and friends while independently researching anatomy, recovery, body mechanics, and holistic wellness.
In 2021, she began expanding her education into specialized modalities, earning certification in Lymphatic Drainage while working at a body sculpting spa in Mequon, Wisconsin. This experience deepened her understanding of therapeutic touch, post-treatment care, and body contouring techniques before relocating to Illinois in 2023. Determined to turn years of independent study and hands-on experience into a lifelong profession, she enrolled at First Institute in Crystal Lake in January 2024. Attending massage school confirmed everything she had already felt—that massage therapy was exactly where she belonged. The program helped align her personal research with clinical education and refined the skills she had already been developing for years. During her schooling, she secured an orthopedic massage position under the tutelage of Dr. Dana Muligano at Ingleside Chiropractic Center, where she gained valuable experience working with injury recovery, muscular dysfunction, and therapeutic treatment plans. She later accepted a more permanent position while completing licensing requirements at Libertyville Wellness Center under Dr. Brian Kelchen. Her experience in clinical wellness settings allowed her to further hone her skills treating clients with complex diagnoses, rare disorders, chronic pain conditions, nerve pain, and severe muscular tension. Through these experiences, she developed not only strong technical ability, but also a deep sense of compassion, attentiveness, and client-centered care. Her journey into massage therapy may have started unconventionally, but the years of dedication, continued education, and hands-on experience have shaped a therapist who genuinely values healing, connection, and helping others feel their best. |
